Internet content filtering
Children have always been a curious bunch. Everyone has childhood memories of seeing
something they shouldn’t have, out of sight of their parents. Some things don’t
change... only the medium for this does. The Internet now allows the delivery of
all sorts of contents rapidly and discretely, something that is a concern to parents
who may be unaware that their kids are viewing material that wouldn’t even be suitable
for an adult. Add to that the rise of social networking sites like MySpace and Facebook,
and your children run the risk of exposing personal information to anyone on the
internet.
ConsortiumWeb consultant Yean Lee discusses ways in which you can protect your family
from dangerous aspects of the internet with Channel Nine Extra's Margueritte Rossi.
